I am a sucker for word games. I love crosswords, word search, Scrabble, and now Word Be-Gone! This game is highly-addicting and fun, fun, fun for the whole family! It is the perfect way to pass time while waiting at the doctor’s office, relax a bit at lunch, or spend time with your family at the end of the day. However you play, Word Be-Gone is fantastic!
The object of the game is to clear a grid of letters by finding words and swiping them away. It isn’t as easy as it sounds because ALL of the letters must be used in words to win that level. Sometimes you will see words in the grid but clearing them leaves lone letters and you discover that the word you saw wasn’t the correct word for that particular puzzle. Basically, you have to find the right letter combinations to create the right words to use all of the letters! This game comes with two modes: Classic and Twist. In the Classic mode, all of the words can be found running horizontally, vertically or diagonally. In the Twist mode, the words can wind and twist around the grid but the letters in the words must be adjacent to each other. To add and element of challenge, some of the puzzles have special rules to them like “Every word must have the letter E in it” or “Every word can only have 3 letters.” There are also hints that you can use if you get stuck and they highlight key words for you to make it easier for you to solve the puzzle.
Since downloading this app last week, not a day has gone by where I haven’t played this game. Even my 2nd and 4th graders love playing this game! It is challenging and fun and your family is sure to love it! It comes with one Classic and one Twist “World” that contain twenty-five puzzles each and ten “Hints”. Additional puzzle packs and hints can be purchased in-app and range from $0.99 up to $2.99. I would highly recommend this app to anyone. It has quickly become a favorite in our family and is probably one of my top five favorite apps that I’ve reviewed this year. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go play Word Be-Gone!
